Hi everyone!
Today que are going to talk about environment. This is an important topic that involves our lives and it’s important for our future. To start with I am going to ask you some questions:
  •         How would you define the word climate change?
  •         Do put into practice the three R?
  •         Could you please name one animal in extinction?
  •         How can we reduce pollution?
  •         From your point of view, which are the causes of the greenhouse effect?
  •         How can we protect the atmosphere?
  •         What do you think is going to happen to the environment if we don’t make changes?

After discussing all those questions and talking about why the environment is so important, we are going to watch a video regarding possible solutions to save the environment. By answering those questions we will be using words related to environment. It is a useful method to learn new vocabulary, to start thinking about solutions and to make the students feel comfortable talking about the environment.

After watching the video, now you should know the importance of the three R: Recycle, Reduce, Reuse.  I would like you to evaluate yourself:
  • Do you recycle always? Do you separate the rubbish into different bins?
  • Do you try to reduce consume of water or electricity? Do to take care of turning off the lights?
  •  Have you ever reused the shopping bags?

One of the main aims of this activity is to make students aware of the importance of the environment and to think about different ways of saving it. Little by little it can make a big difference. Working together, as a team will help them to find better solutions. For that reason, the next activity will be in groups. I will divided the whole class in 3 groups, the first one is going to focus on giving ideas about what can they reduce. They will make a poster writing different things they can reduce and writing some key words. The second group is going to focus on recycle. What can they recycle? How can the recycle? What can they do to make people aware of the importance of recycling? And the last group is going to focus on reuse. What other things can they reuse to help the environment? Do they reuse the shopping bags? Do they use so many unnecessary objects?
The three groups will make a poster with the main aspects they were thinking about and writing key words so their colleagues can remember better what they have said. After that they will do a presentation to the rest of the class.

To conclude the lesson, you need to record a podcast individually explaining how the climate change is damaging the environment and what can we do to stop it. Apart from that, what can you do to save the world?
